2025 BRF FD HBCU Football Classic: A Day to Remember

​Thank you for joining us at the Baldwin Richardson Foods Frederick Douglass HBCU Football Classic on September 27, 2025, at the Rochester Community Sports Complex, where the Central State Marauders defeated the Lane College Dragons 42–13. The event brought thousands together for an unforgettable day filled with tradition, pride, and community spirit. From the exciting on-field matchup to the high-energy halftime marching band performances, the Classic showcased the very best of HBCU culture, celebration, and unity—truly a day to remember.

Central State University, a distinguished Historically Black University (HBCU) in Wilberforce, Ohio, is home to the Marauders football team. Competing in NCAA Division II within the SIAC, the Marauders boast a storied legacy, including three NAIA national championships (1990, 1992, 1995). Known for producing NFL talent and a strong tradition of excellence, the program is now led by former NFL player Tony Carter, focused on discipline, development, and returning to championship form.

Lane College, a Historically Black College (HBCU) in Jackson, Tennessee, proudly represents its legacy through the Dragons football program. Competing in NCAA Division II as a member of the SIAC, the Dragons are known for their resilience, athleticism, and deep-rooted HBCU football tradition. With the recent appointment of veteran coach Stanley Conner as head coach, the program is entering an exciting new era focused on discipline, player development, and academic excellence. The Dragons continue to build on their proud history, preparing student-athletes for success on and off the field.
