LINCOLN UNIVERSITY LIONS FOOTBALL

The Lincoln University Lions football represent Lincoln University, one of the nation’s oldest historically Black colleges, founded in 1854. Competing in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the Lions program carries a rich legacy that includes early Black college football success and a historic national championship in 1921. After being reinstated in 2008, the team continues to build and compete at the NCAA Division II level, bringing a strong mix of tradition, pride, and emerging talent to the field. More than just a football team, the Lions represent the culture, history, and enduring spirit of HBCU athletics.

VIRGINIA STATE UNIVERSITY TROJANS FOOTBALL

Virginia State University Trojans football represents Virginia State University, a historically Black university founded in 1882 and located in Petersburg, Virginia. Competing in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the Trojans have built a reputation as one of the conference’s more competitive programs, with multiple division titles and championship appearances. Known for their disciplined play, strong coaching, and consistent postseason contention, Virginia State brings a winning tradition to the field. Beyond football, the program reflects the pride, excellence, and cultural legacy that define HBCU athletics.
